Chips & Dip

  • Jul. 17th, 2008 at 9:13 AM

One of my favorite non-sweet snacks is Pretzel Rods and Top the Tator dip.  Dunking those rods into the dip before each bite is oh so good!  Alas, I can no longer do that on a regular basis but a friend of mine told me about a healthier alternative.  Pretzels are already low in fat so you need to concentrate on a healthier dip.   This is so super easy it's ridiculous!  Here goes:

Take one container nonfat or low fat yogurt and add one package of Lipton's Onion Soup Mix.  I found that the flavor is better and stronger if you let it sit in the fridge for a few hours before eating it.

Now, it's not quite the same as Top the Tator but it is very good and you can use it with veggies, crackers, chips, baked potatoes, or whatever you like.  I made it using nonfat yogurt and it tasted just fine.

Maybe you've all already heard of this tip before but I'm so thrilled about it that I had to post it here.  Enjoy!
