A few members of my extended family have ADD or ADHD and my son was misdiagnosed with it when he was four and a half.  They prescribed Ritalin and after two doses, he started having neck and facial ticks.  Needless to say, I immediately stopped giving it to him.  This doctor was so sure he had ADHD.  Very soon after that, he was correctly diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome and mild Tourette's Syndrome.

The other two members of the family with ADD or ADHD ended up taking medication, at least through their school years.  The main issue was concentration.  Sometimes, I wonder about myself.  I never had any focus or concentration issues until the last year or so.  There are so many thoughts and ideas floating around in my brain, it's a wonder I get anything done.
