Yesterday, we brought home two female kittens named...Devi and Kali. Both are names of Indian goddesses. Devi means "Dearly Beloved Goddess" and Kali means "Conqueror of Time, Goddess of Creation, Preservation and Destruction."

The name is quite fitting for Kali as she is a hellion and has already knocked over the trash, climbed up the curtains and is digging her claws into the dining room chairs! Devi has been more cautious around us but is starting to warm up and has allowed us to pet and hold her. Kali has moments of wanting to snuggle so she'll climb up on you and try to make her way to your chest or neck where she'll lie down and burrow, all the while making a cute little tribble sound. Devi looks like a panther and is very sweet. She's given Kali a dose of her own medicine when needed and can make a strange, spooky sound when she's warning her off.
Obviously, I love them like crazy already and am enjoying getting to know their personalities and tiring them out with play. :) My husband and son are also enjoying them immensely. I'm so glad we decided not to wait any longer. We'll forever miss our little Indya but know she's always with us and that we'll see her again some day when we meet at the Rainbow Bridge.
Welcome to our family, little Devi and Kali! Thank you for accepting us as family!
P.S. I apologize for the poor quality of the pictures.
