I've been working on my goal list for Mission 101 2009. I have about 83 goals written down so far, some of which I've posted here. I won't post the entire list until I finish it so hopefully that will be tomorrow. Who'd have thought coming up with 101 goals would be so hard? After looking over the list, it appears so selfish to me. I should have working toward world peace or ridding the world of hunger as my goals but no. Mine include painting the living room walls and organizing my photos. Maybe the world hunger thing is on someone else's list. ;)

Silly Post

I hate to post something silly so that I'll make my NaBloPoMo goal of posting every day but it appears that's what I'm doing. I'm feeling like a bee-yotch tonight so it's safer to say very little. Listening to NIN right now, munching on Reese's Puffs. The FDA said to stay away from all peanut butter but I'm not overly concerned about the cereal. This feels like a stream of consciousness post; like I'm typing whatever pops into my head. You know, I don't want my userpic to show up on every entry but I've changed the style to reflect that and it still shows up. Grrrr!

Talent

I've had such fun this last week surfing from one art blog to the next, getting inspired and motivated to be more creative. With the tendonitis in my right hand acting up the past few days, I haven't been able to draw but it's feeling a bit better now so I'll give it a try tomorrow or Wednesday. I'm so amazed by the art I've discovered. People are so talented, it makes me wonder where it all comes from and did I receive a sprinkling of that magic talent fairy dust? I'm going to try to dig up some of my old drawings and hope that will give me some confidence...or not. I remember by high school art teacher saying I had the talent and abilities of someone much older than myself. Can that talent be lost forever if it's not utilitized and nourished? Let's hope not!

A Good Day

The day has been a good one. I was busy at work so the time flew by and I ate a yummy lunch with four of my friends at Hell's Kitchen. It was Taco Bell for dinner with my husband (oh, yeah, we know how to live it up!) and then book browsing and shopping for birthday presents. My husband works this weekend and my son will be at his dad's so I'm planning to finally watch the recent Sex & The City movie and do some sketching. Of course, there's housework to be done and paperwork to be sorted through but I should be able to indulge in a little fun me time.

Challenges & Change

The theme for NaBloPoMo this month is "change." Makes sense what with everyone making resolutions for the new year. As I said in a previous post, I'm not making resolutions, too much pressure there, but have set some goals for the year. I've also taken on a few challenges, like Mission 101 mentioned in my last post, and also CreativeEveryDay, Simply Kind Tuesdays and Sacred Life Sunday. Why am I taking on all these things? Won't it be too much and do I really think I can post about these subjects every day/week/month as required? I'm not going to stress about how often I post but am using the challenges as guidelines and reminders to keep my thoughts in the right place. I'm also looking forward to checking out the posts of other challenge members. I'm sure they will inspire me and I might feature some of them in my inspirational blog, A Touch of Inspiration.

Mission 101 2009

Since I'm already taking up the CreativeEveryDay challenge I posted about at Rudigirl's World, why not add another challenge to my already heavily laden plate? Emma commented on one of my prior posts and she mentioned that she had taken up the challenge of fulfilling 101 goals in the next 1001 days. Seems daunting but given that the alloted time is just short of three years, the possibility of success isn't bad, depending on your goals. Figuring that success will be greater if I actually put a name to my many goals and write them down, I've decided to follow Emma's lead and give it my best shot. If you'd like to give it a try, join the LJ Mission 101 community or the Mission 101 2009 community. I hope I see you there!
